Three Opportunities for Sanctification

Leila, I love this title, but was too lazy to steal the icon!

1. When people use NFP interchangably with avoiding.  Example, I love Kimbe.rly Hahn, but in her book Life Giving Love she says that couples need serious reason to use NFP.  Clearly she uses it interchangably with the term avoid.  This book needs a change in its next edition.  NFP, in our case, was all about diagnosing and treating in order to achieve!

2. Children getting yelled at by crabby parents. Seriously, folks, do you not know that children hearing yelling just tune you out?  It is so sad to hear and see people who don't appreciate children as the blessings they are!

3. Okay, don't kill me for this one, but I struggle with a) cheesy sitcoms and b) local news-mostly due to the cheesy transitions between segments.  These completely get on my nerves and then I get on dh's nerves complaining about them!  I guess that is his opportunity for sanctification! :)

Love these all! And, I never really thought about #1, but you are so right! "Using" NFP doesn't equal "avoiding pregnancy"!

Great observation with #1!

Hey those cheesy transitions pay my bills! Haha, I'm totally kidding. I hate them to, although I was probably to blame for a few back in my tv news days. Now though, and I might be biased, but I think my husband is good at eliminating the cheesiness. And I am hard to watch news with too because I complain about everything. My pet peeve of choice is misspellings on graphics :)

AYWH, I am sure he does! Of course, I have never seen either of you in that light, but it still made me feel guilt even writing that as I didn't want you to take it the wrong way. I figured the people in that field have to know it and not like it either! :) Usually they just make me eye roll, but sometimes...oh my they are just so bad here!

I was just thinking about #2 today, seriously. Of course I have no experience, but how about calmly explaining to instead of screaming at the little ones. Screaming will only teach them that hostile behavior is ok.

Yeah, after reading K.Ha.hn's attitudes towards NFP, it made me want to throw the book across the room. Besides, NFP really helped my husband and me to get to know my cycles and become more medically aware! We've gotten impressed and puzzled looks from doctors during office visits. :)

By the way, aren't you in the homestretch too? :)

PP, yes home stretch :) due date was yesterrday. To show you all how uncharitable I was about number one, I edited my own book. I scratched through every instance with my ballpoint and wrote "avoid" above it instead. In some cases my line went through the page I was pushing so hard! I just thought, here is this person who I think is amazing, and has all this pull, writing this beautiful book, and the op to educate many and then this...ugh!
