Antibiotic advice?

DH almost instantly had an upset stomach afterwards, despite food in it. I think I recall that for some you should avoid milk based products and for others, vitamins. This pkg said neither of those things. Any advice? We bought a probiotic, but I am always confused about when to take it so the antibiotic doesn't immediately kill it to. 12 hrs apart on the same day? Or wait until abx coure is completely done? Dh is coming up on busy time and would appreciate not feeling like crap! :)  He had no problems with it last time, not even metallic taste that I had...

I never thought it mattered when you take the probiotic.
I actually just started taking my Zithromax again this cycle. I'm pulling out all the stops, and haven't taken it in a WHILE, so I figured I may actually have a good response to it again since my body has calmed down a bit since then. No stomach issues thus far... sorry I don't have any advice!

When the doctor put me on the probiotic and antibiotic for my bowel issues. The antibiotic specifically targeted the bowel and nothing else. Even my amox I take 4x's a day didn't take care of my IBS infection I had.

So I would take the antibiotic and probiotic together. The probiotic, as bad as I NEED them give me cramping. :(

We would take a florastor at night and in the morning. It helps with not getting C.Diff. I always felt better when taking ABX with food. Are you both on Biaxin? It does leave a nasty taste, we took that one for 60 days. Yuck!

I will look into florastor. We are on culturelle but I am skeptical b/c it isn't refrigerated. All Target had refrigerated was nasty granules I gag on. Guess I should go outside my comfort zone (Target-lol). We both took the abx with food. Started biaxin, both of us, yesterday. No nasty taste for me, but I got it last time I was on it. Dh was spared and had no side effects last time. This time we aren't on it as much/as long just cyclically. We took it at night, but tonight will try at bedtime.

I think you can buy Florastor at any pharmacy, it is shelf stable (needs NO refridgeration) and doesn't have any side effects. DH has a lot of his geriatric patients take it. I also have some HMF powder (refridgerated) from my naturopath that you mix into any drink. It doesn't have a taste at all.

The first time I ever took biaxin (it was also with macrobid) was the day after we finished the Clindamyacin in NYC and we were headed home. It totally knocked me on my butt. I was so woozy and had to get on the train to come home! It was awful. As the days went on, it got easier.

If you are taking the extended release then I would take it right before going to bed.

Prayers this is the only cycle you have to do this!
